Here in Berlin there are tons and tons of books up for grabs in the street: some in proper “zu verschenken” cardboard boxes, some abandoned next to trash bins, some left on park benches, or lying on the curbside. This project came from the idea of creating a digital archive for “street literature”; aka any book you would put out there rather than giving it to a friend, donating it to a library, selling it, or keeping it on a shelf at home.
